Texas Massage Institute

The Massage Therapy curriculum is recognized by the Associated Bodyworks and Massage Professionals (ABMP). The basic massage program includes training in the lab and internship site. Experienced instructors will cover the basics of massage therapy in the school’s well-equipped facility. Students will also have the opportunity to attend to members of the public in the school’s massage clinic. The massage therapy program at Cortiva Institute prepares students for success in the field of massage therapy. Through knowledge-based sessions in the classroom and lab and therapeutic and clinical techniques on the spa, students will acquire all the skills needed to transition into the world of massage therapy. Tarrant County College – Northeast Campus

The massage therapy certificate program at Tarrant County College covers the techniques of Swedish massage. Course topics include health and hygiene, hydrotherapy/therapeutic modalities, massage fundamentals, anatomy and physiology, kinesiology for massage, pathology for massage, business practices and professional ethics, and internship. Students will learn how to perform chair massage, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, and simple reflexology foot massage. Students will perform 2-therapist massage treatments in collaboration with a classmate. Graduates will be prepared to take the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam and the Texas Massage Therapy Jurisprudence exam for licensure as a massage therapist in the state.
