The Beauty Institute

The Esthetics program at The Beauty Institute covers various aspects of skincare. Students will learn the essentials of hair removal, facials, makeup, and sanitation. After completing the required program hours, they will receive a Certificate of Completion. Graduates will have an in-depth knowledge of theories and techniques involved in microdermabrasion, vitamin C peels, glycolic acid peels, hair removal, makeup techniques, and facial treatments. The hands-on training in the school’s clinic will provide opportunities for students to work with real clients. Business training such as communication and professionalism and preparation for the State Board Exams are also covered in the program. Day and evening schedules are available.

Jean Madeline Aveda Institute

The esthetics program at Jean Madeline Aveda Institute seeks to prepare students to fill the growing need for talented estheticians. The comprehensive training emphasizes the skills needed by skin care professionals, including facials, back facials, waxing, aromatherapy wraps, makeup application, body exfoliation, and more. Students will learn in the classroom (90 hours) and in practical settings (210 hours) but will have the opportunity to attend career fairs. Course topics include History of Cosmetology, Life Skills Management, Anatomy and Physiology, State Laws and Regulations, Infection Control, Chemical Agents, Theory of Massage, Artificial Eyelashes, and Light Therapy. Hands-on training with an opportunity to work on real clients in the student spa prepares students for the real world. These sessions will be conducted under the supervision of an experienced instructor.

Belle Institute

The esthetics program offered by Belle Institute combines classroom instruction and practical activities to prepare students to become a licensed esthetician. The combination of instruction with experience and practice in the student spa helps students make the transition from the classroom to a professional setting. Course topics include body wraps, body facials, introduction to skin care, facials and packs, records and taxes, superfluous hair waxing, makeup, body waxing, paraffin wax, introduction to skin care, camouflage makeup, microdermabrasion peel, and use and application of equipment.

Queen Beauty Institute

The esthetics program at Queen Beauty Institute provides theoretical and practical instruction in fundamental esthetic practices. Course topics include orientation, professional image, salon safety, principles for professional success, chemistry, histology of the skin, disorders of the skin, product ingredients and selection, facial treatment, facial massage techniques, and waxing and tweezing. Hands on learning techniques include facials, waxing, makeup application, and skin care product knowledge. Students will have the opportunity to design their own saloon with a team of partners to learn the principles involved in running a business. Instructors will include preparation for the state licensure exam. Students must complete the required hours of training and pass with a grade C or better to graduate from the program. Full-time classes met Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Part-time classes meet Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Venus Beauty Academy

The Esthetician Program at Venus Beauty Academy provides instruction, training and preparation to commence a profitable career in skin care and hair removal. The curriculum exceeds the State of Pennsylvania’s educational requirements for estheticians by 50 hours. The extra hours provide the time necessary to conduct training in facial treatments, microdermabrasion, make-up, hair removal, and sciences. Content is delivered through a balance of instruction in career preparation and development. Instructors will use interactive lecture, demonstrations, video field trips, group discussions, evaluations and assessments, peer coaching, role play, time drills, and projects to ensure that students understand the content. Students are required to attend all 350 hours to graduate from the program.

School of Beauty Culture

School of Beauty Culture’s Esthetics Program takes a scientific approach to corrective and protective skin care. The practical (job skill) component of the program provides students with technical knowledge and opportunities to practice in a clinical environment to develop job skills. Course topics include facials, back facials, makeup application, rotary brush peeling, aromatherapy, massage techniques, color draping, product knowledge, masks and specialty treatments, salon management and much more. Day and evening schedules are offered. Students must complete the requirements with a minimum satisfactory academic grade of 70% to graduate and receive the Esthetics Diploma. Day students meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Night students meet Monday through Thursday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Lansdale School of Cosmetology

The Esthetician course offered by Lansdale School of Cosmetology includes rigorous study of skin care and makeup artistry. The hands-on course seeks to give students a solid foundation in the practical operations and the theory behind every practice. Course topics include microdermabrasion, personal hygiene and public sanitation, structure and function of the skin, skin analysis procedures, electricity and light therapy, professionalism and ethics, history of skin care and cosmetics, client consultations, waxing, aromatherapy, reflexology, and makeup techniques includes bridal makeup and corrective and fantasy makeup. Graduates must attend the required course hours and complete the program with a minimum grade of 70 to graduate from the program. Day and evening class schedules are offered.
