The theoretical and hands-on centered curriculum covers basic and advanced plumbing calculations, installation of plumbing systems, safety, material selection, and principles of science. East Valley Institute of Technology

The Plumbing Service and Repair Technician Program at EVIT prepares students with skills to function as a qualified technician in plumbing service, repair and installation. The training will combine plumbing theory, hands-on assessments, practical real-world activities. Areas of study include construction trades safety, customer service and communication skills, professionalism, problem-solving, residential water safety, green technologies, sales and marketing strategies, job readiness, and green technologies. Graduates will receive certifications from George Brazil Plumbing and National Center for Construction Education and Research as well as other manufacturer specialty certifications. They will be eligible to entry level employment in the field as repair and installation technicians. The course is a dual enrollment course. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 11:00 am.

Mesa Community College

The Certificate of Completion in Construction Trades: Plumbing provides students with knowledge and skills in plumbing. The curriculum introduces common construction skills including safety, costs, construction drawings, fixtures, popes and fittings, waste, drain, vent systems, and water distribution systems. Students will learn how to practice OSHA standards in daily work, perform calculations in plumbing trade, communicate effectively with stakeholders, repair plumbing systems using appropriate costs and tools, interpret construction plans, maintain workspace according to professional standards, demonstrate professionalism with conduct and ethics. Students must earn a minimum grade C or better in all courses to graduate from the program. Graduates of the Certificate of Competency program and continue their studies to obtain an Associate in Applied Science in Construction Trades.

National Technical Institute

NTI’s plumbing program provides a fast-track to a successful career in the plumbing industry. The contractor driven curriculum includes theory and hands-on training in topics such as blueprint reading, waste systems, plumbing fundamentals, water supply systems, waste systems, finish and advanced plumbing. Coursework in professional development and job placement skills seeks to produce well-rounded leaders for the industry. Graduates will receive a certificate and will have technical knowledge and skills to succeed in the industry. Morning and evening classes are offered. Morning classes meet from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Evening classes meet 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
