Creativity, leadership, precision, reliability, and a passion to stay on top of trends. These are just a few traits of a successful nail technician. Since their duties can be repetitive and require sitting for long periods, nail technicians must also be patient and resourceful. If this sounds like you, then you might want to give nail technology a try. Technicians shape and decorate their clients fingers and nails, perform manicures and pedicures, apply nail extensions, repair damaged nails, and apply nail gels. They also provide hand and foot massages, provide hot oil therapy to heal damaged cuticles, fill nails, and treat nail disorders.

Nail technology programs not only cover the skills needed to provide professional nail services but also to raise your awareness of the dangers involved and the importance of safety in practice. Nail care products may contain potentially hazardous chemicals,  so safety is essential. The program will also encourage the development of communication, customer service and business skills that will help you to branch out on your own. Nail technology programs can be completed in less than three months and include preparation for success on the state nail technician exam.
