The Esthetics program at San Jose City College is taught by passionate and experienced faculty who practice on the side in addition to their role as full-time instructors. Hands-on and theoretical training will cover waxing, makeup skills, back treatments, eyebrow beautification, Chemical peels, business marketing, communication, and skin care. The faculty will also prepare students for success on the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology exam. Graduates of the state-accredited program will receive a Certificate of Achievement. Enrollment in the program is accepted in either the Fall or Spring semester. Classes meet in the evenings and on Saturdays.

The esthiology program at Aveda Institutes prepares students for entry level employment in say spas, salon spas, resorts, and retreat centers. The instruction will include theory and hands-on training in skin care, facials, hair removal, makeup application, body treatments, business development, wellness, and retail knowledge. Other areas of study include fundamentals of dermanalysis, facial manipulations, plant aromaology, anatomy and histology, and state safety requirements. Students will be prepared to take the state board exam for licensure in California.

Santa Clara Beauty College

The esthetician program at Santa Clara Beauty College qualifies students to take and pass the California licensing exam and obtain employment as a licensed esthetician. The curriculum includes technical instruction and practice of all operations covering the role and responsibilities of an esthetician. Instruction will include demonstration, lecture, classroom participation and examination. During the practical experiences, students will provide complete service on another person or a mannequin. KZ Academy

The Esthetician training program at KZ Academy prepares students to identify and analyze the different alterations of the skin. Instruction will include theory (170 hours) and practical experiences (430) in the school’s clinic. It will cover skincare and facial treatments, products and equipment used in the industry, new skin care technologies.  Course modules include disinfection and sanitation, facials, wax and depilatories, hair removal and eyebrow arching, tweezers. Facials, chemicals, and make-up and eyelash. Graduates will be eligible to obtain their Esthetician license from the State Board of California.

San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology

SFIEC’s provides adults with the knowledge and technical skills to pass the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology exam for licensure in the state of California. The curriculum will cover areas such as basic skin theory, waxing, skin treatments, impeccable health and safety standards, proper sanitation habits, business building skills, and professionalism using classroom demonstrations, lectures, and hands-on activities in the school’s clinic. Students must obtain a passing score of 85% on written exams and 80% on practical exams to graduate from the program. The class size is limited to 20 students with each cycle. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Full-time classes meet Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Part-time classes meet Tuesday through Friday from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

International College of Cosmetology prepares persons who are passionate and enjoy working with their hands for a career as a licensed esthetician.
